Job Descpription
We are in search of a Medical Assistant member for our team. We are looking for a candidate who manages time well, pays attention to detail and can work well independently and as a team. Hours for this position will vary between 8am & 5pm with occasional evening hours until 7pm and occasional Saturday short shifts.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Takes patient history, vitals and physical assessment
- Prepares patients for examinations and treatment
- Gives injections, applies dressings, removes staples/sutures, respiratory treatments & performs wound care
- Phlebotomy and administration of immunizations
- Assists physician/non-physician provider in minor procedures and physicals done in clinical setting
- Schedule patients appointments
- Document ALL patient interaction/correspondence/orders/test results in electronic health record
- Consult with patients about immunizations, lab orders, and urgent appointment needs
- Schedules tests and obtains insurance pre-certifications if needed
- Maintains policies and compliance with OSHA/HIPAA
Requirements:
- LPN or Medical Assisting Degree
- 2 years of family practice active experience
- Ability to sit for prolonged period of times, with small amounts of bending, stretching, and lifting
- Physical hand dexterity and full range of motion for operation of basic office machines
- Speaks fluent English
- Good attendance
